Fun with birds, Rosie Rainbow Happy Easter Feliz Pascua

Happy Easter - Feliz Pascua
Rosie Rainbow

Having fun at the shops- awesome parents room.

We had to go shopping, then the inevitable visit to the bathroom, well look what we found this gorgeous painted parents room. Its at Burleigh Stocklands Shopping Centre Gold Coast Australia, where a new Aldi just opened. We had lots of fun taking pics with the gorgeous paintings on the wall. In case you parents have never ventured into a parents room. These are rooms with change tables , microwaves and breast feeding rooms. They usually have a toilet which has a small one for the child and larger one for the adult. When we visited there was noone there either and this one was brand new. Worth a trip to shop with the kids just to see it.
My daughter is loving her hair now, and often will ask to wear it out. We get amazing responses from people we don't know, giving her compliments,
" I wish had had curls like that"
" How do you look after it?"
" Can I touch it?" She usually says, " No". As it mucks up her hair.

This hairstyle is 2 side double strand twists and then put back in a pony tale, keeps the hair neatly in place.

My son the Athlete

Here he is with his 6 metals he won from Nippers, he is very fast.
Since I started this adventure selling lovely hair products. My son says her is going to grow his fro. for one year! Awesome can't wait to see it. Now he is actually old enough to comb it. With his hair he is able to use the traditional afro comb, where my daughter's hair so long it needs a wide tooth comb.

My kids are ready for the World Cup Soccer. Here they have Fuleco the official world cup mascot he is an armadillo and a Brazilian Teddy.

Our bird - Eclectus Parrot - Ruby Tuesday

As its Easter and all things colourful I thought I would share our bird with you.
She is the easiest and least expensive pet ever. She only eats wild bird seed- its very cheap from Currumbin Stock Feeds. Also supplement her diet with fruit and veges. She likes some fruit and veg and not others, she love nuts and popcorn. Frozen peas are another favourite.

She is funny, talks when she feels like it, will come out with whole sentences.
loves to peck, she is still scared of the hand, Hopefully she will calm down after a few more years. They apparently live 60 or 70 years.
Here I gave her a frangipani flower and she loved it. I will have to bring her some more of these.

Her is Ruby going for a walk in the toy trolley.
These holidays have been so warm, we have been doing lots of swimming in the ocean and the swimming pool. So this has meant lots of products are need to protect our hair. Before we go in the sun and surf we spread in some Oasis Hair food leave in conditioner with sunscreen. This is a lovely scented thick product, that stays well in your hair.
Also when we get home we put some Sukin Conditioner or Everyday Shea through the hair at shower time. Also all these products can be left in the hair to use for detangling and moisturising the hair. I sell all of these so have a look at my site and then drop me an email eagle098@gmail.com

School holiday fun - What do do?

Make a blackboard from your cupboard/ wardrobe.

  1. Blackboard paint
  2. Paint brushes - thick ones and thin ones. Thick for the big areas and thin for the details, so you can do delicate outlines.
  3. Masking tape - draw and then mask the design, masking tape is good because you rip it with your hands to do circles or curves.
  4. pencil to draw design - Think a shape that has a big belly, we have a bird so bird it is.
  5. disposable gloves, the paint is hard core and won't come off skin for a long time.
  6. Newspaper to catch any drips.
The blackboard has been a big success, she probably has been drawing everyday. I just rub it out with a pair of fluffy airplane sock, you know those flimsy ones they give you. We have lots of these as we just went to Brazil and 10 airplanes later, and 4 days sitting on airplanes.

Have fun on your holidays!

Love the fro and let it grow!

12 reasons to love Curly Afro Natural Hair

12 reasons to love Curly Afro Natural Hair

Something great has happened in my life recently and I want to shout it from a mountaintop. I want to tweet it, Instagram it, make it my Facebook status. No, I didn't get pregnant or land my dream job. I didn't join a cult. I accepted my curls. I decided that curls rock. Curls are cool! Curls are like if pizza had a baby with a tiny polar bear who wears leather jackets just 'cause he feels like it. Curls are better than ice cream with gummy bears on top.
This level of curl-acceptance is a recent development. I wasn't always like this. I've spent hundreds of dollars on Japanese straightening treatments and Brazilian blowouts. I've burned my neck with straightening irons and paid six times what my friends did at the dry bar. I've put 75 different products in my hair and let it dry in a braid expecting shiny, soft waves and then crying when the result was a crispy but still somehow frizzy rope. Then there was the time I asked my friend Matt to iron my hair -- with a real iron -- so that my crush (a boy with dreadlocks) wouldn't see my unsightly curls. Oh, the drama. OMG she even used a real iron, a clothing iron!
Those days are now behind me. From now on, I'm embracing my hair. And you, my curly-haired sisters, should too.  Article courtesy of  12 reasons to love curly hair and changed up by me.

My daughter finally said "I don't want straight hair anymore." A Hallelujah moment for me and her!!!!

When she wears her out she gets so many nice compliments. Obviously at school it has to be tied back, to prevent her catching nits. So its fun on shopping days or lunch out when she can enjoy her beautiful locks.
Here are 12 reasons having curly hair rocks:
1. You are easy to spot in a crowd. You could be lost in a swarm of humanity at Seaworld or Wet n Wild and your group will be able to find you. You cannot get lost. Believe me, I've tried.
2. Sometimes children will stare up at you and your curly locks like you're the Queen of all the Muppets and Disney Princesses. Last 4th of July, this happened to me and it was awesome. The little girl kept looking from my hair to her own straight hair and laughing.
3. Fancy hair means curls. When you're pulling bridesmaid duty, your hair is already "fancy" so you'll spend minimal time in the chair and maximum time having fun!
4. With curly hair, you don't even need sleep or caffeine; you already look alert and quirky. Go get 'em, Tiger! Turn that yawn into a roar!
5. Curly hair equals big personality. You can try being shy with curly hair, but people think you're bold and approachable so you might as well be bold and approachable. Think of all the friends you'll make! Oooh, you're so popular! Yes the amount of compliments my daughter gets when she wears her out. It's so nice for her as she is still shy and learning to love her hair.
6. Wearing your hair curly feels like a rebellion. Oh yeah, look at you, you're such a rebel. Congrats, you little badass.
7. You can dress like the lead singer of an '80s hair band any time you want. All you need is a hair pick, some hairspray and a little eyeliner and HELLO, 1983 Jon Bon Jovi!
8. Who needs a bun maker? Your big, awesome hair makes a super fierce topknot without any help from a stupid foam donut. And, you don't need any help making it look artfully messy either. (The same goes for braids and side-ponytails.)
9. Curly hair distracts from whatever you want it to: circles under your eyes, pre-menstrual chin breakouts, the earrings you hate but are wearing anyway because your great-aunt gave them to you and you're meeting her for brunch.
10. On an island vacation, you can let your hair dry naturally everyday actually while your girlfriends are still blow-drying and flat ironing and curling and spraying. Let your hair dry naturally is the best option and less drying on your hair. Its easy for us here we live in Australia in a very warm part of the country.
11. There are no photos of you with a bowl cut that might pop up on Facebook on Throwback Thursday. No bowl cuts!
12. You're rocking your natural hair and you're beautiful for it. Seriously. You're gorgeous. I want to hug you. Come here. Where are you going?
13. Love the Fro and let it grow.

My daughter finally said today for the first time, " I don't want straight hair anymore"

Hooray we finally got their.
I saw this on the web:
In 2010, Sheri Crawley and her husband Corey, decided to relocate to her hometown of Detroit Michigan to be closer to her mom who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. In the fall their oldest daughter, Laila, was enrolled in kindergarten, and the couple observed changes in her behavior.  Laila lost her bubbly personality and became more withdrawn and timid during school hours. She began to make comments when she saw shampoo commercials on television that she wanted long blonde hair like that of her classmates, as opposed to her own beautifully textured hair.

This is just like my daughter used to be, especially when it was time to get ready for the day, and do her hair. I don't want curly hair! Cut it all off! The trouble and her protests was extreme. I have searched high and low for products that work. Also for advise on how to care for her hair.
The first discovery was that in the USA they call it natural hair. Where as here in Oz its called curly or afro hair.

  • Imagine That

  • Imagine That is a 2009 American comedy-drama film starring Eddie Murphy. Imagine That takes place in Denver, Colorado,. Wikipedia

  • Initial releaseJune 12, 2009 (USA)

  • Initial DVD releaseOctober 6, 2009
  • This is my favourite DVD I have seen this year.  Imagine that start Eddie Murphy and Yara Shahidi.

  • Its an absolute must see if you have a child, and also a daughter. Yara who plays the daughter is amazing and gorgeous with all the beautiful, afro curly, natural hairstyles in this move.
  •  I watched the extras part and it would take several stylists hours do her hair. All of you, and myself who only have Mum or Mom in the USA, you are doing very well.
  •  The actual movie is a very funny and touching story of a father and daughter relationship. If you are interested in share trading and American Indian culture this is the movie for you. Rent it today!

  • This is a great clip on how to instill confidence in a child who is about to perform on stage. So cute, funny and functional. The clip is on Youtube. Click on the link below.

  • My daughter finally said today for the first time, " I don't want straight hair anymore"

  • This is a break through, she finally has accepted and starting to enjoy all the fun and hairstyles she can do with her hair. My son has decided to grow his hair too! He used to let it grow and then never comb it. It was so knotty it was like a mat. Now he showers and combs it everyday.

    Why your hair isn't soft.

     1. Shampooing too often especially with shampoo that has SLS. This is most supermarket shampoos. Try my

    Shampoo and Conditioner

2 bottles - Keratin Kurl Brazilian Tech 250 ml each

    1.  Shampooing Hydratant - sulfate free.
    2. Revitalisant Conditioner
    3. Only $30 for both.

    2. Drink lots of water stay hydrated.

    3. Lots of product build up. Especially with oils. If you slather on the products everyday , which you will have to do if you have beautiful afro natural curls. After a week or the hair follicles become clogged up.

    4. You surf or swim in the ocean. The salt water dries out your hair. As Sally Fitzgibbons mentioned in an article this week in the Gold Coast Bulletin,
"it looks like seaweed"  Always have a fresh water shower after the surf.

    Try my Oasis

    Moisturizing leave in, combing creams-

Oasis Ph Hair Moisturizing cream Hair Food.

Only $20 for this great product that has sun protection.

    5. You swim in the chlorinated swimming pool. The chemicals in the pool water dry out your hair and make it smell.
